The brief

A brand new bathroom renovation business, launching into the Waikato with no website, no domain authority, and no customer list. Everything a competitor already had, this business had to build from zero.

Two jobs: a website that could be found, and a reason for someone to make contact long before they were ready to book a builder.

We built both. The site is live at justbathrooms.nz.

The website

Forty-eight pages at launch, not the five-page brochure most trades start with.

The structure follows how people actually search for this work. Every service gets its own page, from full renovations through to walk-in showers and waterproofing. Every town in the service area gets its own page. Then a layer most trades sites skip entirely: pages for the type of customer rather than the type of job, covering homeowners, accessible bathrooms, landlords and rentals, and commercial work. Someone searching "accessible bathroom Hamilton" lands somewhere written for exactly that, not on a generic services page.

On top of that sit the guides and FAQs that catch people much earlier, while they are still working out what a bathroom costs and what the process involves.

The whole thing is built on Next.js, so it loads fast, carries proper structured data, and the business owns the code outright.

The lead magnet: the Bathroom Reimaginer

The website answers people who are already searching. The problem is that most people thinking about a new bathroom are months away from that point. They know they hate their bathroom. They have no idea what they want instead.

So we built them something to play with.

Upload a photo of your actual bathroom. Pick a few styles. Watch your own room come back transformed.

Not a gallery of someone else's bathroom. Not a generic mood board. Their room, their window, their awkward corner, restyled in materials you can genuinely get in New Zealand. Three concepts generated in parallel, back in about thirteen seconds.

The Bathroom Reimaginer - upload a photo, pick styles, see the room transformed

Making it actually work

The first version had a problem that would have killed it: the AI kept redesigning the room instead of restyling it. Baths disappeared. Toilets moved. People would have seen a nice image of a bathroom that wasn't theirs.

Three things fixed it:

It looks before it draws. A survey pass reads the photo first and lists what is actually in the room and where, and that list goes into every render instruction. The model knows there is a bath under the window and that it needs to stay there.

It checks its own work. After each concept, a second pass compares the render against the original and flags anything that drifted or got misread. If something moved, that style re-renders once with a targeted correction.

The customer can steer it. Before choosing a style they can ask for changes: remove the bath, walk-in shower, more storage, keep the bath. Those instructions outrank the style. Afterwards, each concept has a refine box, so they can type "add a tiled shower floor" and get that one change without the rest of the image shifting.

Where the lead comes from

When someone likes what they see, they leave their details, and the team receives the enquiry with the customer's original photo and their chosen concepts attached, plus any changes they asked for.

That is a fundamentally better lead than a name and a phone number. The conversation starts with the team already knowing what the room looks like and what the customer wants done to it.

Honest about what it is

The tool says plainly, on the page and on the results, that these are AI concepts to spark ideas, not a quote. It cannot see behind the walls. The real number comes from a free measure.

That was a deliberate call. A tool that quietly implies a price it cannot stand behind creates an argument at quoting stage and a customer who feels misled. This one sets up the measure instead.

Why this shape of launch

A new business has no reputation to trade on, so the site has to do two things at once: get found for the searches that already exist, and give people who are not ready to buy a reason to raise their hand anyway.

The 48 pages handle the first. The Reimaginer handles the second, and it does something a contact form never will, which is turn idle curiosity into a conversation the business can actually act on.
