The results
Empower sells job-management software to fabrication, joinery and engineering workshops. The prior year had gone backwards - roughly -7% on customers. The brief was simple: turn marketing into a lead engine that actually grows the base.
In three months the paid side went from nothing to a steady flow of real workshop enquiries. 31 quote-quality leads came through the instant-quote calculator - fabrication shops, joineries, engineering workshops, painters, crane operators. These are quoting businesses, not tyre-kickers.
The cost to buy one of those leads settled at about $102, off a clicks-cheap $0.57 CPC and 322,000 impressions since April. And the audiences are nowhere near saturated - at current spend we reach a fraction of the addressable NZ and Australian workshops, so budget can step up and pull proportionally more leads. This isn't a channel that taps out at a small ceiling.
Then the compounding engine kicked in. We rebuilt Empower's entire website and expanded it from 20 pages to 69 - every page keyword-researched, structured for search, and optimised for Google and AI search. Organic traffic climbed 29% in a month and average position moved from 20 to 16 - with under half the site indexed so far. Most of the upside is still ahead: more pages indexing, and positions climbing onto page one where click-through multiplies.
How
Two levers, run in sequence.
Paid, first - to prove the engine. We built the offer around a productivity guarantee: 20-40% more output in year one, in writing. For a sceptical workshop owner who's been burned by software before, a guarantee flips the risk - it's not "trust us," it's "we'll prove it or it's on us." We pointed Meta ads at the right people - page admins and business-page owners in workshop industries - and cut the add-ons Meta pushes on marketers. Lead gen started rough: high volume, low quality. We re-optimised the campaigns three times, each pass tightening on quality. The latest campaign delivers leads that quote.
Organic, second - to compound for free. Ad budget was tight, so we went for the long game. We rebuilt the Wix site from scratch, did the keyword research, and targeted low-to-medium competition terms across every service, industry and location Empower serves. The site tripled in size - 69 pages, all search-optimised, fast-loading, and structured for both Google and AI search. That depth of content would normally take months and tens of thousands of dollars. We delivered it in weeks.
Then Australia. Same playbook, much bigger pond. Phase two is live and the first Australian leads are already coming through.
The opportunity
We build the kind of sites Google rewards - deep content, fast load, proper structure - and we buy leads cheaply while paid channels are still underpriced. For Empower that means a paid engine that works and scales, an organic channel compounding for free on top of it, and a second market opening across the Tasman.
This window won't last forever. If your marketing has gone flat, now is a very good time to get ahead.
